A&K Sanctuary has announced the opening of Kitirua Plains Lodge, a new luxury property set near Kenya’s Amboseli National Park. Scheduled to welcome guests from June 1 next year, the all-suite lodge will be located on a private concession just 10 minutes from Amboseli’s main gate.
The launch represents Abercrombie & Kent’s return to the region where founder Geoffrey Kent first introduced a modern luxury safari camp in 1962. Designed in collaboration with Luxury Frontiers, Kitirua Plains Lodge will feature 13 standalone suites, including two spacious two-bedroom units.

Facilities will include a spa, gym, swimming pool and communal boma, offering guests a refined retreat with uninterrupted views of Mount Kilimanjaro. The lodge’s location provides direct access to Amboseli’s diverse habitats, from sweeping plains to seasonal wetlands.
Guests will be able to enjoy daily game drives, cultural visits with the Maasai community, and optional hot air balloon safaris for a unique perspective of the landscape.
