andBeyond has completed a soft refurbishment of its Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp in Kenya, updating guest facilities while maintaining the camp’s established positioning in the Masai Mara’s Mara Triangle.
The upgrade comes as demand continues to grow for high-end safari product in East Africa, particularly around the Great Migration corridor.
Refurbishment enhances comfort without changing core product

Located on a private concession at the base of the Oloololo Escarpment, Kichwa Tembo has long been a key property in andBeyond’s Kenya portfolio.
The refurbishment includes refreshed interiors, upgraded ensuite bathrooms, new tent canvas and more flexible bed configurations. Each of the 40 tents now also features in-room tea and coffee stations, catering to guest demand for added in-room comfort.
Importantly for the trade, the update retains the camp’s established layout and relaxed, social atmosphere, ensuring continuity for returning clients and repeat bookings.
Prime location supports year-round wildlife appeal

The camp’s position within the Mara Triangle provides access to strong year-round game viewing, including resident lion and leopard populations, as well as elephant, giraffe and buffalo.
It also sits directly on the path of the annual Great Migration, typically from July to October, when large herds of wildebeest and zebra move through the region.
For agents, this dual appeal supports both peak-season and shoulder-season bookings.
Broad activity mix strengthens offering

Kichwa Tembo continues to offer twice-daily game drives, guided bush walks on its private concession and hot air balloon safaris, alongside bush dining experiences.
The private concession access remains a key differentiator, allowing for walking safaris not permitted in some parts of the reserve.
Trade relevance for Australian market

For Australian travellers, Kenya remains a core East Africa destination, often combined with Tanzania or southern Africa itineraries.
Refreshed product at established camps such as Kichwa Tembo ensures agents can continue to offer well-known, reliable options while meeting expectations for modern comfort.
As competition increases across the Mara, upgrades that enhance guest experience without altering the core safari product are likely to support continued demand.
