APT expands Africa touring program with flagship itineraries for 2027–2028

APT Travel Group has unveiled its Africa 2027–2028 collection, expanding its touring portfolio across Southern and East Africa with more departures and a continued focus on small-group travel.

The new program responds to sustained demand from Australian travellers for structured, multi-country itineraries that combine wildlife, culture and premium inclusions.

Building on more than a decade of touring experience in Africa since 2012, APT has increased departures on selected itineraries, giving agents more flexibility when planning ahead for peak travel periods.

All tours are capped at a maximum of 24 guests, maintaining a small-group format that supports a more personalised experience, particularly in remote safari environments.

Flagship itineraries anchor the collection

A key highlight is the 24-day Contrasts of Africa itinerary, which travels from Cape Town to Nairobi, covering South Africa, Zambia, Kenya and Tanzania. The journey includes guided touring with an APT Tour Director and local safari guides, with inclusions such as a Royal Livingstone Express rail dining experience, cultural insights into Maasai traditions and a visit to a school supported by APT’s OneTomorrow Charitable Fund.

Also featured is the 13-day Essence of Southern Africa, one of APT’s most established itineraries, combining Cape Town, Stellenbosch and Kruger National Park with experiences including a stay at the Royal Livingstone Hotel, a traditional boma dinner and a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls.

Strong fit for long-haul Australian travellers

With all internal flights included in selected itineraries, the program is designed to simplify logistics across multiple countries, a key consideration for Australian travellers booking long-haul trips.

For the trade, the expanded collection provides early access to bookable product with clear inclusions and pricing, supporting forward sales in a competitive touring market.

As demand continues to build for guided Africa experiences, APT’s latest program reinforces the operator’s focus on combining scale, structure and premium inclusions across the region.
