Contiki launches four new African adventures for young Aussies

Contiki has expanded its Africa portfolio with four fresh itineraries designed specifically for 18–35 year-old travellers from Australia. From the wildlife-rich plains of the Serengeti to the vibrant energy of Africa’s top music festival, these new trips promise big adventure, deep cultural immersion, and unbeatable value for young explorers.

Responding to growing demand from Gen Z and Millennial travellers, the new overland and premium camping adventures make African safaris more accessible—both logistically and financially—for a new generation of experience-seekers.

Four new trips for 2025

Kenya & Tanzania Adventure (11 days)
A full circuit of East Africa’s top safari hotspots, this itinerary visits five national parks including the Maasai Mara and Amboseli. Alongside Big 5 game drives, travellers can opt into ziplining, archery, rafting and cultural activities, all wrapped into one seamless journey.

Kenya Adventure (6 days)
This high-energy trip covers three iconic parks with options for mountain biking, white-water rafting, hot air ballooning and a visit to a Maasai village. It’s the ideal fast-paced intro to Kenya for adventure-minded travellers.

Tanzania Adventure (6 days)
Combining Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara, this six-day itinerary offers daily game drives and optional treetop walks, village visits, and a rare night safari experience for spotting elusive big cats after dark.

Cape Town, Kruger & Bushfire Festival (9 days)
A reimagined take on Contiki’s classic Cape, Safari & Falls trip, this version ends with three days at the Bushfire Festival—Africa’s celebrated music and arts event in Eswatini. Think game drives, coastal views and festival vibes all rolled into one.

Making safaris more accessible

With these additions, Contiki now offers over 30 Africa experiences, from Egypt to Morocco and Namibia. The new trips are designed to keep costs down without compromising on quality, bringing bucket-list safari adventures within reach for younger travellers.

“Safaris are on the bucket list for so many young travellers, but they’re often seen as out of reach,” said Toni Ambler, Managing Director of TTC Tour Brands.

“These trips bring the safari dream to life, complete with all the highlights, but without the luxe price.”

Kyle Junkuhn, Operations Manager in Africa for Contiki, added, “Offering more trips at affordable prices into expensive destinations like East Africa will give more people the opportunity to experience the best wildlife viewing on the continent.”
