Contiki is returning to Uganda with a new 19-day East African itinerary spanning Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, expanding its Africa offering for travellers aged 18 to 35 and giving agents greater flexibility through seven modular itinerary options.
Priced from $11,585 per person for Australian travellers, the Best of Uganda, Kenya & Tanzania journey starts in Entebbe and finishes in Arusha, combining primate trekking, conservation experiences and safari viewing across three East African destinations.
Uganda returns to the Contiki map
A key selling point is Contiki’s return to Uganda, where the itinerary includes guided gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and chimpanzee tracking in Kalinzu Forest.
Travellers will also join specialist rangers for rhino tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, home to Uganda’s only wild rhinos, alongside a cruise on the Nile River.
The itinerary then extends into Kenya and Tanzania, with wildlife experiences including game drives in Kenya’s Maasai Mara.
Seven itineraries give agents greater flexibility
While the complete East African journey runs for 19 days, Contiki has structured the program around seven modular itineraries. The format allows travel advisors to match trips more closely with clients’ available time, budgets and wildlife priorities.
Contiki is also introducing two accommodation styles on the same African departure for the first time. Travellers can choose between camping and chalet accommodation while remaining part of the same group, adding another level of flexibility when advisors are matching the product to different budgets and travel preferences.
East Africa targets younger safari travellers
The expansion gives agents a new multi-country option for younger clients seeking to combine East Africa’s major wildlife destinations with primate encounters and conservation-focused experiences.
With Uganda returning to Contiki’s program alongside established safari destinations Kenya and Tanzania, the itinerary also provides a broader entry point into Africa for 18-to-35-year-old travellers who want multiple wildlife experiences within one journey.
