Desert & Delta Safaris has announced the launch of its first Okavango Awakening Wellness Retreat, a special edition Epic Experience designed to balance mind, body and soul in the heart of Botswana’s Okavango Panhandle and Tsodilo Hills.
Taking place from 28 November 2025 over four nights, the retreat combines wellness practices with authentic cultural encounters and safari adventures across two UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Guests will stay at the intimate Nxamaseri Island Lodge, with its lagoon-facing yoga deck, wellness spa, swimming pool and private chalets.
A holistic retreat in Botswana’s wild heart
The itinerary blends sunrise yoga, sound healing, breathwork, journaling and strength flows with classic safari activities including mokoro and motorboat excursions, fishing, and nature walks. A highlight of the retreat is the Tsodilo Hills Sleep-Out Expedition, where guests spend the night under the stars in the company of the San people, experiencing storytelling, traditional song and trance dance in one of Africa’s most sacred landscapes.
Led by Kerrith O’Fee of Victoria Falls Yoga, the retreat is designed to be inclusive, with activities tailored to all levels of experience. Guests can also choose one-on-one workshops or simply enjoy the lodge facilities in their own time.
Flexible, commissionable and customisable
Rates are set at $902 per person per night, sharing, with a special offer of no single supplement for the first two solo bookings. Charter flights from Maun are available at $303 per person per sector. All rates are commissionable, and as part of the Epic Experiences collection, the retreat can be extended or combined with other Botswana itineraries.
On the horizon for Desert & Delta Safaris
Beyond the retreat, the company has confirmed the opening of Sediba Sa Rona in March 2026, developed in collaboration with citizen-owned Savanna Expeditions. Upcoming highlights also include three signature Botswana sleep-outs – Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, Camp Okavango’s Sleep-Out Deck, and the Tsodilo Hills Sleep-Out – as well as new partnerships such as post-race safari packages for the Salt Pans Ultra Marathon 2025.
