Desert & Delta Safaris has announced the launch of its newest luxury lodge, Sediba Sa Rona, set to open on 16 March 2026 in Botswana’s Khwai Concession — one of the most ecologically rich safari destinations in southern Africa.
A modern lodge with deep local roots
Meaning “Our Source of Water,” Sediba Sa Rona is the result of a partnership with citizen-owned Savanna Expeditions, reviving the legacy of the iconic Khwai River Lodge. The new camp retains the original footprint to minimise environmental impact, combining sustainable development with Desert & Delta’s renowned operational standards.
Designed for multi-generational luxury
Nestled between the Okavango Delta and Moremi Game Reserve, the lodge will offer 15 luxury tents, including a two-bedroom family suite. Each features an en suite bathroom and private deck with Khwai River views. Lodge amenities include a swimming pool, spa, fire deck, bar, and al fresco dining areas, making it ideal for families and discerning safari-goers alike.
Immersive safari experiences
Sediba Sa Rona promises diverse activities including:
- Morning and afternoon game drives
- Night drives in the Khwai Concession
- Mokoro (dugout canoe) journeys
- Scenic helicopter flights (additional cost)
- Day trips into Moremi Game Reserve
- Specialist guiding for custom itineraries
- Birdwatching with over 400 species nearby
Wildlife in the region includes lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs and abundant plains game.
Now open for 2026 bookings
The lodge is officially open for 2026 bookings and will follow common-rated pricing with all Desert & Delta Safaris camps. Travel advisors can access fact sheets, maps, layouts and renderings via the updated Agent Portal.
This new opening is part of a broader expansion that includes the reopening of Xugana Island Lodge on 15 April 2025 and an upcoming wellness itinerary at Nxamaseri Island Lodge.
