Forth & Wonder hosts Australian agents on South Africa famil to strengthen trade partnerships

Melbourne-based Africa specialist Forth & Wonder has hosted five Australian luxury travel advisors on an 11-day South Africa famil, reinforcing the value of immersive, on-the-ground training in driving high-end safari sales.

Immersive itinerary showcases full South Africa journey

The invitation-only trip was designed to highlight the diversity of South Africa’s luxury offering, spanning city, winelands and safari experiences.

The itinerary began in Johannesburg with a stay at Fairlawns Boutique Hotel & Spa, before moving to Cape Town for three nights across Cape Grace and Cape Cadogan, alongside inspections of flagship properties including The Silo Hotel and Ellerman House.

Agents also toured Table Mountain and Robben Island, before heading into the Cape Winelands for tastings in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, including a hosted experience at Mont Rochelle and an overnight stay at La Residence.

The journey concluded with five nights on safari in the Greater Kruger region, with stays at Thornybush Game Lodge, Lion Sands River Lodge and Dulini Moya, where participants experienced game drives, guided walks and bush dining.

First-hand product knowledge builds agent confidence

Forth & Wonder said the famil was designed to move beyond brochure knowledge, giving agents direct exposure to accommodation, guiding standards and overall guest experience.

“South Africa never fails to deliver — from consistently outstanding game viewing across the reserves, including leopard, lion and wild dog, to the sheer spectacle of Cape Town and the Winelands,” said travel designer Lisa Burke.

Participating advisors also pointed to wildlife encounters and lodge quality as standout elements, reinforcing the value of first-hand experience when selling premium itineraries.

Trade investment supports premium safari sales

The famil reflects a broader industry focus on agent education as a key driver of conversion in the high-end Africa market.

By investing in immersive training and closer partnerships, operators aim to equip agents with the confidence and insight needed to sell complex, multi-stop itineraries.

Forth & Wonder works with agents across Australia and New Zealand, offering tailor-made African travel with localised support, fast turnaround times and AUD-based invoicing.
