Craig Hunt is the Business Development Manager for MW Tours, looking after Victoria and Tasmania regions. Craig is someone you need to get to know, and here is why.

What is your job description and what does your role involve?

My job involves promoting the range of MW Tours products to the retail travel industry in Victoria and Tasmania through sales visits, sales training, destination training and familiarisation trips.

Which parts of the travel industry do you work with?

I mostly work with the retail travel agencies.

What do you love most about your job?

The interaction and relationship building with staff and managers who I have known for many years. Teaching and helping people understand how they can make their clients have the trip of a lifetime.

What are the challenges of your role?

Finding the time needed to be able to do all the “education” on the product that I would like to do.

What do you wish the travel industry did more of?

Acknowledgement of the great work that consultants do to ensure that their clients get what they ask for, or exceed the clients expectations.

How can the travel industry work with you?

I am willing to work hours and times that suit for training and learning for consultants and the public. It would be great if consultants and agencies had more time to learn.

What is your favourite African experience and why?

Watching the faces of my parents when they saw their first elephants in the wild in Africa. A life long dream of theirs that I was able to be a part of.

Where is your next African adventure to?

Hopefully South Africa including Cape Town.

What are your top tips for travelling Africa?

Embrace the beauty and the culture and take every opportunity to do al that you as it may be a once in a life time experience.
