Great Plains Conservation will use its next “Zooming into Great Plains” webinar to provide travel advisors with an update on two new safari camp openings in Kenya and the current flood conditions across Botswana’s Okavango Delta and Selinda Reserve.
The online session, hosted by Great Plains representative Alex on 11 June 2026, will offer trade partners an early look at developments within the conservation tourism operator’s East African portfolio while also delivering seasonal insights that may influence future safari bookings.
New Kenya properties expand safari portfolio
The webinar will showcase two upcoming additions to the Great Plains Kenya collection scheduled to open in 2026.
One of the new properties, Zamara Private, will be a six-suite exclusive-use lodge located on private land within the Maasai Mara ecosystem. The lodge is expected to target the growing demand for private group and family safari experiences in one of Africa’s most sought-after wildlife destinations.
Alex will also provide an update on Shompole, a new lodge in Kenya’s Rift Valley that is being developed on the site of the former Shompole Lodge. The property was previously known for attracting high-profile international travellers and receiving widespread recognition in design and travel publications.
According to Great Plains, the new iteration of the lodge will retain the character that made the original property a standout destination while introducing a refreshed design concept.
Botswana flood season shaping up strongly
The webinar will also revisit Great Plains’ “Shape of Water” discussion from last year, with an update on water levels across Botswana’s Okavango Delta and Selinda Reserve.
The company says 2026 is already proving to be a significant flood year, with water levels creating favourable conditions for wildlife viewing and safari experiences across the region.
For travel advisors, the update will provide valuable insights into seasonal conditions that may influence client travel planning and demand for Botswana safaris over the coming months.
Focus on trade education
Great Plains has continued to use its “Zooming into” webinar series as a platform to keep travel trade partners informed about new product developments, destination conditions and conservation tourism trends across its African portfolio.
The 11 June session is scheduled for 09:00 and 17:00, allowing agents across multiple markets to participate.
