ILTM Africa 2025, the continent’s leading luxury travel showcase, has officially sold out, underscoring the extraordinary momentum behind Africa’s high-end tourism sector.
Scheduled for 6–8 April 2025 at Cape Town’s Norval Foundation, the event is a cornerstone of Africa Travel Week and is drawing unprecedented interest from global travel advisors and elite buyers.
The sell-out reflects broader trends in luxury travel, with Virtuoso research reporting a 211 percent surge in sales compared to 2019. Africa is fast becoming a magnet for affluent travellers seeking authentic, experience-rich destinations.
Africa’s luxury appeal on show
Hosted in the days leading up to WTM Africa, ILTM Africa brings together top African luxury travel brands with handpicked international buyers for three days of one-on-one meetings, thought leadership sessions and curated networking.
“What sets ILTM Africa apart is our commitment to building deep, lasting relationships,” said Megan De Jager, Portfolio Director at Africa Travel Week. “We’re curating moments that bring the essence of African luxury to life – and fostering connections that help shape the future of travel.”
The 2025 event features a program designed to inspire, including:
- Chauffeur-driven vintage motorbike sidecar arrivals for hosted buyers
- A garden picnic hosted by Steadfast
- ‘In Conversations with’ panel sessions on ethical travel and the role of art in luxury tourism
- Gourmet experiences at Room 91 by Chefs Warehouse
- A Jeep safari along Cape Town’s Chapman’s Peak Drive
- Private exhibitions and a handcrafted jewellery experience at The Diamond Works
Art with impact
A standout initiative at this year’s event is Art for Conservation, a collaboration between Painted Wolf Wines and artist Leandri Erlank to raise funds for the Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT), supporting African wild dog conservation. The largest donor will receive an exclusive artwork created for the campaign.
“This initiative reflects our industry’s deeper responsibility to protect the wildlife and landscapes that make African travel so compelling,” said De Jager.
Cape Town steps into the global spotlight
Geordin Hill-Lewis, Executive Mayor of Cape Town, welcomed the event’s return: “Cape Town could not be prouder to host ILTM Africa. As the luxury travel capital of the continent, we are thrilled to welcome delegates and showcase what makes Africa the future of luxury.”
With the global travel industry’s attention now firmly focused on Africa, ILTM Africa 2025 promises to be more than a marketplace – it is a celebration of the continent’s creativity, conservation and growing influence in the luxury space.
