Jaci’s Private Lodge has officially reopened after a 10-month rebuild, marking the start of a new chapter for the Madikwe safari property as it welcomes guests back with redesigned accommodation, refreshed guest spaces and updated trade assets on the way. The reopening follows a soft launch period used to test operations, fine-tune the guest experience and bring the lodge team back into rhythm before the official return to market.
Rebuild completed after 10 months

In an update to partners, the lodge said the rebuild had been completed on schedule after months of planning, training and preparation. The reopening is one of the biggest milestones in Jaci’s recent history and signals the full return of the property following an extensive transformation.
The business said support from partners throughout the rebuild had been critical, particularly while the lodge remained out of market. A launch reel has also been released to showcase the new-look property while fresh photography is still being finalised.
Soft launch feedback shapes final refinements

Jaci’s said the past two weeks of soft launch stays had allowed the team to resolve final building snags and sharpen service delivery ahead of the official reopening. Early guests included family, friends and trade partners, with management saying the trial period had been invaluable in helping staff settle back into full operations.

Feedback from those first stays has been positive, with guests describing the property as combining luxury, service and warm hospitality, while retaining the family atmosphere long associated with the lodge.
“The most remarkable quality you can find at Jaci’s is the sense of family you breathe everywhere,” one guest said.
Another described it as “the perfect combination of luxury in the African bush, great service and warm hospitality from arrival to departure”.
New chapter includes next-generation family leadership

The reopening is also being positioned as a broader transition point for the business, beyond the physical rebuild alone. Jaci’s said the next generation of the Van Heteren family is now stepping into a leading role, with Dane and Tristan joining Jaci and Jan in shaping the future direction of the lodge.
According to the update, while the buildings have changed, the core identity of Jaci’s remains the same, with family-led hospitality still central to the guest experience.
Accommodation at the reopened lodge includes Jaci’s Madikwe House with five bedrooms for up to 10 guests, Nare Villa and Kubu Villa with three bedrooms each, six Safari Suites for two guests per suite, and four Safari Suite Expeditions designed to accommodate two adults and two children per suite.
New professional photography from the rebuilt lodge is expected to roll out across fact sheets, room guides, guest welcome packs, website imagery and agent resources once editing is complete. In the meantime, Jaci’s said its Pay 3 Stay 4 launch offer remains available for a limited time as enquiries continue to build.
