Kwandwe Private Game Reserve has kicked off 2025 with a strong start, building on a landmark year of growth, lodge enhancements, and meaningful conservation efforts. The South African safari reserve has confirmed its 2026 rates, alongside a suite of product updates that reinforce its reputation as one of the country’s premier private wildlife destinations.
Following an 8,000-hectare expansion in 2024, Kwandwe continues to elevate the guest experience across its portfolio. Major highlights included the refurbishment of Melton Manor, the launch of exclusive Private Vehicle Suites at Ecca Lodge, and standout wildlife sightings across the reserve.
2026 rates released
Kwandwe has now released its 2026 rates, valid from 16 January 2026 through to 30 April 2027. Several offerings remain unchanged to support continued value for trade partners:
- Private Vehicle Suites at Ecca Lodge remain at 2025 pricing
- Rates for Rhino Conservation Participation and the Backstage Kwandwe experience remain consistent
- Conservation, Community and Reserve Levies hold steady
- The popular Honeymoon and Take 20 Special Offers are extended through 2026

Ecca Lodge: Privacy and personalisation
Recent updates at Ecca Lodge include the renaming of the three Family Suites to Private Vehicle Suites, each now equipped with a dedicated vehicle, guide, and tracker. This reconfiguration offers the ultimate in privacy and tailored safari experiences—ideal for couples, families, or small groups.
Ecca Lodge Suite Options:
- 3 Luxury Double Suites – Shared safaris (max 6 guests per vehicle), from R16,300 (2025) and R17,930 (2026) per person per night
- 3 Private Vehicle Suites – With exclusive safari vehicle, guide and tracker, R55,900 per suite per night (2025 & 2026)
- Children under 12 are not permitted on shared safaris but can stay free in Private Vehicle Suites (CCR Levy applies) when sharing with two adults
Backstage Kwandwe returns
Backstage Kwandwe is back with limited departure dates in September 2025, offering guests a rare, behind-the-scenes look into the reserve’s conservation work. The 4-night stay at Ecca Lodge allows up to 12 guests to engage with the Kwandwe team in activities such as rhino monitoring, anti-poaching K9 unit demonstrations, AI tracking tech, and rewilding initiatives like spekboom planting.
Backstage Kwandwe includes all meals and drinks, shared safaris, extended dinners, bush breakfasts, and a 25% accommodation discount.
