Registrations have opened for the 16th edition of the Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE), with organisers positioning the 2026 event as a larger and more globally connected platform for African tourism trade.
Scheduled to take place from 6 to 8 October 2026 at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi, the event is expected to attract thousands of industry professionals, reinforcing its role as one of Africa’s key tourism trade shows.
Strong buyer programme and global reach
MKTE 2026 will host more than 250 vetted international buyers and over 400 exhibitors, with participants expected from more than 60 countries.
A structured buyer programme remains central to the event, with pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings designed to maximise business outcomes across the three-day expo.
The Kenya Tourism Board said the event continues to serve as a key platform for building partnerships and driving commercial opportunities across the continent.
Focus on MICE, sustainability and networking
New elements for 2026 include expanded conference tracks focused on MICE tourism, eco-tourism investment and community-based tourism, reflecting evolving industry priorities.
Organisers are also increasing networking opportunities, alongside a hybrid format that will see selected sessions live-streamed to a global audience.
The event is open to a broad cross-section of the industry, including buyers, agents, DMCs, airlines, media and investors.
Key platform for African tourism trade
With more than 10,000 business meetings recorded at the previous edition and attendance exceeding 8,000 professionals, MKTE continues to play a central role in connecting African suppliers with international markets.
For the Australian trade, the expo provides a valuable opportunity to engage directly with African tourism stakeholders, source new product and strengthen partnerships across the region.
