In an exciting development for Malawi’s tourism industry, Rayoni Holdings is set to launch a new airline dedicated to boosting tourism. The airline will connect the northern attractions of Malawi with Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar.

Rayoni Holdings, a leader in tourism, aviation, and hospitality, received an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the Malawi Civil Aviation Authority in June. This certification allows Rayoni Tourism Airline to operate various flights, enhancing tours to destinations like Karonga, Nkhata Bay, and Nyika National Park, while establishing connections with Zanzibar and Kilimanjaro via Ethiopian Airlines.

Public Relations Manager Alex Ngulube highlighted the company’s commitment to customer service and passenger safety, emphasizing the economic and tourism benefits for Malawi. The Ministry of Tourism lauded this initiative as a “significant step forward,” aiming to overcome challenges faced by tourists.

This airline promises to be a game-changer, promoting Malawi’s northern region and its rich cultural heritage, while creating jobs and stimulating economic growth. The inaugural flights are expected in the coming months, marking a new era for Malawi’s tourism sector.
