Robin Pope Safaris will expand its Zambia portfolio with the launch of Kujana Camp in Lower Zambezi National Park, with a soft opening scheduled for October 2026.
The new property marks a return to small-scale, low-impact safari design, aligning with growing demand for intimate, experience-led stays in high-value wilderness areas.
Small-scale camp targets exclusive market
Located on a private island within the Zambezi River’s Discovery Channel, Kujana Camp will open with just four tents, accommodating a maximum of eight guests.
The design focuses on simplicity and immersion, with open-air bathrooms, private decks overlooking the water and solar-powered systems supporting a low environmental footprint.
Access will be via Jeki Airstrip, followed by a short transfer, offering a balance of seclusion and accessibility for travellers.
Land and water experiences shape itinerary
The camp’s location allows for a combination of land- and water-based safari activities, including game drives, walking safaris, boating and fishing.
Robin Pope Safaris said the experience will be deliberately flexible, with daily activities shaped by wildlife movement and seasonal conditions rather than fixed schedules.
This approach reflects a broader shift towards slower, more personalised safari experiences.
Lower Zambezi strengthens premium appeal
The Lower Zambezi region continues to gain traction as a high-end safari destination, known for its strong wildlife density and diverse habitats.
Elephants, buffalo, predators and abundant birdlife are common in the area, with the Zambezi escarpment providing a dramatic backdrop for photography-focused travel.
An introductory rate of US$950 per person per night will apply during the October to November 2026 soft opening period.
As operators continue to invest in low-density, high-value camps, launches such as Kujana highlight the ongoing evolution of Zambia’s luxury safari offering.
