Rovos Rail is encouraging travel advisors to package its short and long journeys into combined itineraries, offering a five per cent saving as part of a strategy to drive longer, higher-value bookings.
The move reflects growing demand for extended, multi-destination rail experiences across Southern Africa.
Multi-journey combinations expand itineraries
The rail operator has outlined a series of pre-designed combinations linking key routes, including Cape Town, Durban and Victoria Falls.
Options include an eight-night Cape Town and Victoria Falls journey, as well as six to seven-night itineraries combining Durban with Victoria Falls or Cape Town with Durban.
Longer combinations are also available, pairing flagship itineraries such as the Namibia Safari, African Collage and Dar es Salaam routes with shorter rail segments.
Flexibility supports tailor-made travel
Rovos Rail noted that not all combinations operate on every departure, with additional flexibility available through flight connections between journeys.
Pre- and post-rail stays can also be incorporated, including accommodation at the company’s St James guesthouses in Cape Town.
Trade opportunity in premium rail sector
For the trade, the combination model provides a structured way to build more comprehensive itineraries while increasing overall booking value.
As demand continues to grow for slow travel and immersive experiences, luxury rail journeys remain a key product for clients seeking a deeper exploration of the region.
