Royal Caribbean International has revealed plans to include Africa in its cruise itineraries for late 2025. The Voyager of the Seas will sail to destinations along the African coast and the Indian Ocean, marking an exciting addition to its global schedule.

New itineraries from Barcelona to Cape Town

The Voyager of the Seas will depart Barcelona on 27 October 2025 for a 14-night voyage to Cape Town. Along the way, guests will experience a range of vibrant destinations, including:

  • Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands.
  • Dakar, Senegal, offering a taste of West Africa’s rich culture.
  • Walvis Bay, Namibia, with an overnight stop to explore its dramatic coastline.

Cape Town to Singapore: A journey through the Indian Ocean

After arriving in Cape Town, the ship will embark on a 17-night cruise to Singapore. This itinerary includes stops in:

  • Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
  • Le Port, Reunion Island.
  • Port Louis, Mauritius.

The voyage features 11 days cruising through the Indian Ocean, offering guests ample time to relax and enjoy the ship’s amenities.

Australian season follows African adventures

Once in Singapore, the Voyager of the Seas will continue its original schedule, sailing to Brisbane for the 2025/26 Australian summer season. From mid-December 2025 to early April 2026, the ship will offer a variety of three- to nine-night cruises to destinations in Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific islands.

Adjustments to previous itineraries

These new itineraries replace two previously scheduled repositioning cruises through the Red Sea and Suez Canal, which were cancelled earlier this year due to unrest in the region. The original cruises, departing from Civitavecchia to Dubai and Dubai to Singapore, included stops in Italy, Greece, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates.

Royal Caribbean noted the decision to reroute the Voyager of the Seas was made to prioritise guest safety while still delivering exceptional travel experiences.
