Safari Atlas Tanzania, a new safari navigation and wildlife companion app developed by Extreme Expedition Tours, has launched with features designed for professional guides, travel agents and safari guests.
Built by guides for remote safari navigation

Originally created as a practical tool for professional safari guides in Tanzania, Safari Atlas was designed to address the challenges of navigating remote terrain where standard maps are often unreliable.
The app includes offline navigation, GPS tracking and detailed mapping of more than 700 locations across key safari regions, helping guides locate remote camps, tracks and river crossings.
It also includes information on more than 150 wildlife species to support wildlife identification in the field.
Tools for agents planning Tanzania safaris

The app has now expanded with new functions aimed at helping travel agents plan and explain safari itineraries more easily.
Agents can browse around 750 landmarks across six national parks, review routes between camps and parks, and import itineraries that map a full safari route directly within the app.
Companion tool for safari travellers

For travellers on safari, Safari Atlas works as an offline companion tool with GPS navigation, wildlife fact files and a sightings journal to record animals and locations during the journey.
The app has been designed to function fully offline, an essential feature for remote safari environments where mobile coverage is limited.
Available through travel agents
Safari Atlas is available as a paid app priced at US$20 for lifetime access. According to its developers, the app is intended to be offered to travellers through professional travel agents as an added value feature within Tanzania safari packages.
