The Uganda Wildlife Authority have revised the Gorilla permit and Chimpanzee permit prices for the next 2 years.

A letter from the Uganda Wildlife Authority confirmed that from the 01st July 2024 – 30 June 2026, a new set of prices will come into effect which includes an increase to the Gorilla permits and Chimpanzee permits.

Gorilla Trekking permits in Bwindi & Mgahinga for tourists will now cost USD$800, while the Gorilla Habituation in Bwindi will now cost USD$1500.

Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale will now cost tourists USD$250 while Chimpanzee Trekking ( Kyambura Gorge ) in Queen Elizabeth National Park will cost USD$100.

Any permits purchased before 30th June 2024 for safaris after the 01st July 2024 will not be subject to the new price increase. Any rescheduled permits purchased for at the old rates where the new rescheduled date is after the 01st July 2024 will be subject to the new price increase.
