Viking has expanded its Egypt offering with the launch of a new five-night Morocco pre-cruise extension for guests booked on its 12-day Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary.
The extension allows travellers to combine two of North Africa’s most popular destinations in a single journey, providing additional opportunities for travel advisors to upsell land touring before clients embark on their Nile cruise.
Marrakech and Casablanca featured in new itinerary
The five-night extension includes three nights in Marrakech and two nights in Casablanca, giving guests the opportunity to explore Morocco’s cultural, historical and natural attractions before flying to Cairo to begin their Egypt cruise.
Included experiences feature guided tours of Marrakech, the Atlas Mountains, Casablanca and the UNESCO-listed sites of Rabat.
The programme also includes accommodation, meals, transfers and a flight from Casablanca to Cairo.
Growing demand for extended journeys
The addition reflects growing demand for longer, multi-country travel experiences, particularly among premium travellers seeking to maximise long-haul journeys.
By combining Morocco with Egypt, Viking is creating a broader North African itinerary that links two destinations known for their rich history, architecture and cultural heritage.
For the Australian market, the extension offers travel advisors an opportunity to package a more comprehensive regional experience while increasing overall booking value.
Available for 2026 departures
The Morocco extension is priced from AUD$4,499 per person for departures between September and December and is available in conjunction with Viking’s Pharaohs & Pyramids river cruise.
The cruise line said the extension will be fully guided by a Viking Tour Director, ensuring a seamless transition between the Morocco land programme and the Egypt sailing.
The launch further strengthens Viking’s portfolio of pre- and post-cruise extensions designed to encourage longer stays and deeper destination immersion.
