WTM Africa 2025 is set to take African tourism to the next level with its newly announced theme, “Ignite Africa.” Scheduled for 9 to 11 April 2025 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), the event promises a reimagined format focused on actionable insights and strategic networking opportunities.

Organisers RX Africa have packed the programme with critical topics such as aviation, responsible tourism, and marketing, all designed to deliver practical solutions rather than just theoretical discussions. Attendees can look forward to sessions curated by industry experts and interactive workshops in the “Brain Box,” offering valuable skills and knowledge to take away and apply in their businesses.

A key highlight will be the release of a renewed State of the Industry report, providing the latest data and insights into African tourism. This trend report will be essential for stakeholders looking to navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead.

In a bid to raise the standard of travel journalism, WTM Africa will also unveil a revamped Media Awards programme, recognising excellence in reporting across the continent. Press conferences, media briefings, and exclusive interviews with top industry figures will ensure that the media have direct access to key stories shaping the industry.

“This isn’t just an update to our annual event,” said Megan De Jager, Portfolio Director for RX Africa. “We’re completely reimagining how we can drive African tourism forward. With ‘Ignite Africa,’ we’re offering practical tools and strategies that professionals can immediately apply to their businesses.”

WTM Africa 2025 is shaping up to be a must-attend event for tourism professionals looking to stay ahead in the evolving African travel landscape.
