Surrounded by natural springs and panoramic views of the Chyulu Hills and Mount Kilimanjaro, the camp’s 17 tented suites offer a stylish and serene base from which to explore. The five unique walking routes each showcase a different side of the region’s extraordinary ecology and biodiversity.
Five hikes, each with a story to tell
The Chyulu Sunrise Hike begins at 4am and takes guests to a high vantage point overlooking the Chyulu Cloud Forest. As the sun rises over the landscape, wildlife such as giraffe, buffalo and even leopard may be spotted. A light breakfast in the wilderness rounds off the experience.
The Bush Walk offers a more intense encounter with Tsavo’s wildlife and ecosystems. Accompanied by a professional guide and a Kenya Wildlife Service ranger, guests learn tracking techniques and gain insight into local conservation efforts while walking through open bush.
The Chyulu Rainforest Hike leads guests beneath a canopy of moss-draped trees and along orchid-lined trails. This serene walk highlights one of Kenya’s most pristine forest ecosystems, typically unseen on traditional game drives.
The Ol Doinyo Ololarami Hike is a guided climb to the summit of a dormant volcano. A challenging but rewarding experience, the hike offers sweeping views across Tsavo’s vast wilderness.
The Camp Safari Walk is ideal for families or those seeking a gentler pace. This complimentary walk around camp focuses on smaller wildlife, birds, animal tracks, and the medicinal uses of native plants.
