Minor Hotels targets multi-destination Africa travel push

Minor Hotels is promoting multi-destination travel across Southern Africa, using Africa Day to spotlight its regional portfolio and growing demand for combined itineraries.

The hotel group said high-value travellers are increasingly seeking journeys that move beyond single destinations, combining cities, safari and coastal experiences into one trip.

Multi-stop itineraries gain traction

Minor Hotels’ Africa portfolio spans 12 properties across the region, enabling travellers to link destinations such as Cape Town, Victoria Falls, Zambia’s Kafue National Park and Mozambique’s Bazaruto Archipelago.

The group said this approach reflects a broader shift in traveller behaviour, with clients prioritising variety, cultural connection and seamless movement between destinations.

Portfolio spans safari, coast and cities

Key properties highlighted include Royal Livingstone Victoria Falls Zambia Hotel by Anantara, positioned within Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, and Anantara Stanley & Livingstone Hotel in Zimbabwe, which offers access to conservation experiences.

In Zambia, the upcoming Anantara Kafue River Tented Camp will add a remote safari option, while Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort in Mozambique delivers a coastal complement.

Urban properties such as Avani Windhoek, Avani Gaborone and NH Johannesburg Sandton round out the offering, supporting city-based extensions.

Trade opportunity in connected journeys

For travel advisors, the ability to package multiple destinations within one brand portfolio simplifies planning and logistics, particularly for long-haul markets such as Australia.

Minor Hotels is positioning its network as a way to build cohesive itineraries that combine wildlife, culture and relaxation, while maintaining consistent service standards.

As demand for experiential, multi-stop travel continues to grow, operators with diverse regional footprints are increasingly well placed to capture high-value bookings.
