The Uganda Wildlife Authority has successfully introduced new Gorilla Trekking Families that can be tracked in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

There are now five new Gorilla Trekking Families that can be tracked in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The park is located in southwest Uganda and is home to over half of the mountain gorillas in the world.

The Park is split into four sectors:

  • Northwest – Buhoma Sector
  • Northeast – Ruhija Sector
  • Southwest – Nkuringo Sector
  • Southeast – Rushaga Sector

Each zone has a different number of gorilla families that can be tracked. The five new gorilla families are located in the different sectors listed below:

Buhoma Sector: Binyindo & Muyambi

Rushaga Sector: Rwigi & Tindatine

Nkuringo Sector: Posho
