A new seasonal tented camp near Victoria Falls is targeting the long-standing shortage of high-end group accommodation in the destination’s peak season.
Victoria Falls Tented Camp, developed by Chiefs Tented Camps in partnership with Shearwater, is designed specifically for the incentive and corporate travel market, with capacity for large groups to stay in one location.
Purpose-built for groups and incentives

Operating from March to September, the camp offers 40 luxury tents accommodating up to 80 guests, with the ability to scale beyond 100 for larger groups.
Set within the private Jafuta Reserve, just 15 minutes from Victoria Falls International Airport, the property provides exclusive-use options aimed at incentive planners and DMCs.
The launch addresses a known challenge in Victoria Falls, where boutique lodges dominate and group inventory is limited, particularly during peak periods.
Bush setting adds differentiation

Located within an active elephant corridor, the camp offers a more immersive wildlife experience than typically available close to the Falls.
Experiences include guided bush activities, cultural programming and access to less-visited areas of nearby national parks, including Zambezi National Park.
The setting allows operators to combine proximity to Victoria Falls with a more private, nature-based stay.
Trade opportunity in scalable inventory

For the travel trade, the camp provides a rare large-scale option in a destination traditionally geared towards smaller groups.
Its seasonal, pop-up model also reflects a broader trend towards flexible, low-impact developments in sensitive environments.
As demand grows for high-end group and incentive travel in Africa, products that can deliver both scale and exclusivity are expected to play a larger role in itinerary planning.
