World Travel Market (WTM) Africa 2025 has commenced under the theme ‘Ignite Africa’, marking a significant milestone in the continent’s tourism resurgence.
The event, held in Cape Town, has attracted participants from 96 countries, reflecting a robust recovery and growth in African tourism.
Record-breaking attendance

Carol Weaving, Managing Director of RX Africa, highlighted the event’s impressive growth, noting a 27 per cent increase in buyers compared to previous years. Notably, 82 per cent of these buyers are attending WTM Africa for the first time, offering fresh opportunities for exhibitors.

The ‘Ignite Africa’ theme underscores a commitment to sustainable and inclusive growth within the tourism sector.
