Lux Collective rolls out workplace wellness program across Mauritius resorts

The Lux Collective has completed a 12-month workplace wellness initiative across its Mauritius portfolio, marking what it describes as a first for the country’s hospitality sector.

Developed in partnership with local wellbeing technology company LetsBe Mauritius, the program reflects a broader shift towards structured employee wellbeing strategies within the industry.

Industry-first approach to staff wellbeing

Rolled out across six resorts, the initiative focused on supporting team members through a guided wellness journey, incorporating fitness, nutrition and mental health support.

Participants had access to a network of professionals including coaches, doctors and psychologists, alongside wearable technology used to track progress and personalise support.

The program moves beyond traditional workplace wellness activities, instead targeting long-term behavioural change and sustainable lifestyle improvements.

Focus on performance and guest experience

The initiative is underpinned by the link between employee wellbeing and guest satisfaction, with the group positioning staff care as central to service delivery.

Lux Collective chief executive Olivier Chavy said the program demonstrated the impact of sustained support on employee outcomes.

“Caring for our people is at the heart of our organisational culture. The LetsBe Transformation Journey showed what’s possible when people are truly supported and encouraged,” he said.

Holistic model gains traction

The program focused on both physical and mental wellbeing, including areas such as stress management, resilience and confidence.

A cohort of 29 team members completed the program, each receiving personalised coaching and consultations throughout the 12 months.

For the wider industry, the initiative highlights a growing trend towards embedding wellbeing into core business operations rather than treating it as a standalone activity.

Relevance for the travel trade

As labour challenges and service expectations continue to shape the hospitality sector, structured wellbeing programs are emerging as a key differentiator for operators.

For the trade, stronger staff engagement and retention can translate into more consistent service delivery, particularly in premium resort environments such as Mauritius.

The Lux Collective’s approach signals a shift towards long-term investment in workforce wellbeing as part of broader brand and guest experience strategies.
